Thanksgiving, Christmas, New year. So many holidays and of course........ feast! who doesn't love to eat right? especially when everybody is enjoying eating and having fun. But of course sometimes we tend to forget our diet, counting calories, food portions. etc. I'm sometimes guilty of this too.
Here are some tips that hope to help you lose some holiday weight gain.
1. Eat fruits and vegetables. They'll give you more food and less calories. You just came out of holiday feast so better start eating healthy foods and gain power not fat.
2. Spice things up. A little salsa can add a lot of flavor to a baked potato-and for few calories. I know, many people may not like to eat boring or bland healthy foods. So spice up your food a little.
3. For sweets. just grab low-fat yogurt instead of ice cream. There are many low fat yogurts around nowadays. You might thought of grabbing a low fat ice cream, but better not.
4. Besides cutting calories, a high fiber diet help prevent cancer, heart disease and digestive illness. So wake up with an oatmeal breakfast or just get a high fiber lunch and your off to lose weight.
5. Exercise everyday. Oh yes! You ate a lot last holiday, so lose that fat!
Everything may seem to be very hard, but i still think that if you put your heart to it. I mean discipline is one major key to lose weight! We still have few more holiday feasts to come so if you think you are having a hard time to lose weight. Then control yourself.
If you are one of these individuals who cannot easily find time to stick to a proper fitness routine, you can still workout even without employing any fitness equipment. Here are some quick and simple ideas how to keep that body healthy and fit all year round.
Work and Exercise with your Kids
If you have kids and a baby, take this as an advantage rather than a disadvantage to your workout routine. Put your baby in his pushchair and together with the other kids, have a little trip at the park or just around the block. Brisk walking is a good cardio exercise, which keeps you feeling refreshed and relaxed after-wards. Plus, it is good for the kids too.
Also, you can get everybody moving by tidying the kitchen, the living room, and the bedrooms at least for five minutes daily. Have fun by setting a timer, putting music on, and get everybody, including you, picking up the clatters, books, toys, clothes, shoes, and so on and so forth. It is good as little cardio exercise for you and your kids. There are many things you can do with your kids that will keep you up and running. And in the process, you keep your physical aspect fit and healthy with those little physical exercises.
If the kids go to school, you can use this again to keep your fitness routine by walking them to and fro. Besides exercising, you are spending quality time with them. Plus, you make them feel great and in excellent mood before entering the school. Never use the car for this spoils your goal of keeping fitness routine. Unless, of course, if the school has a long distance. In this case, what you can do is to park the car a little far and walk the rest of the distance.
Use your Time Alone
When you are alone at home, make your list of 5-minute activities which will keep you occupied and exerting physical effort. It can be as simple as climbing the stairs up and down, stretching, running to and fro the house, gardening, watering the plants, laundering the clothes, washing the dishes, and a lot, lot more activities. You can go to the park and just walk around and catch fresh air. There are endless activities you can do. The good thing is it does not only achieve your goal of burning calories daily but it allows you to accomplish the household chores at the same time.
Of course, you need to take rest as well. It will help a lot if you get a good amount of sleep hours so your body and mind are refreshed daily. Plus, you must bear in mind that eating healthy foods is the key to completing your goal of keeping fit and healthy. Be sure that the food is both good for you and your kids too.
Parties are a major source of peer pressure, especially with alcohol. However, remember that alcohol contains hundreds of empties calories in just one drink. When you go to a part, people might be pressuring you to have a drink and relax, and it can be difficult to say no when they are constantly trying to convince you. Instead, offer to drive to a bar instead. This way, you re the designated driver, so people won’t want you to drink and, in fact, they will probably be purchasing you waters and maybe even helping to pay for your gas. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
Another time when you may feel pressured to eat is at work when the boss orders lunch for everyone at a meeting or when you have to visit a client. Instead of giving in to temptation, simply politely decline the food by letting your boss know in advance or order a meal that is healthy and split the portion in half so you have a meal for tomorrow’s lunch as well.
Baby showers, weddings, birthday parties, and other special events can also wreak havoc on your diet, even if you are good at resisting temptation on your own. When someone hands you a piece of cake and won’t take no for an answer, it can be difficult to know what to say! Here, little white lies might be appropriate. For instance, saying that your stomach was upset earlier in the day will convince a person that you don’t want to eat at the moment or pretending to have a chocolate allergy will get people to allow you to enjoy the party without a hassle surrounding food.
Remember, however, that while refusing bad foods is fine, you should be eating good foods. If you do not, dangerous eating habits and disorders can develop, which will give you, your friends, and your doctor a real reason to worry. It’s ok to say no to peer pressure, but don’t say no to food in general!

But that was then,(when i was young i tend to hate odd looking fruits) Well, I like it now more than before. My sister often tells me that people has only two views for this fruit " Hate it or Love it" All i can say is that I'm in between. It is known in South and East Asian Countries as the "King of all fruits".

Tryptophan increases brain levels of serotonin and melatonin, both are known as sleep-inducing hormones. So it helps to relaxes your brain and get sleepy. Yes there are some food that we can substitute with Salt and sugar. We don't need to give away the taste of our favorite food sacrifice the flavor just to be healthy. There are some alternatives to choose from to have a great flavor to our food.
First why do we need to minimize or eliminate the Sugar we take? here's the thing, excess energy intake, including excess sugar can cause weight gain or worst obesity, especially combined it to poor physical activity. And of course there is no way we could be healthy if we suffers from obesity. Foods with plenty of refined sugars are very energy dense and often have less of other nutrients. Eating foods high in sugar can displace more nutritious foods from your diet. So minimize your sugar intake watch on sugary foods like cakes, ice cream, chocolates, soft drinks, etc... aiming for more than a moderate in your diet. Here is one best example of substitutes for sugar, Honey is a healthier sweetener, as artificial sweeteners available in the market.
And why do we need to minimize or eliminate the Salt we take? Too much salt can raised blood pressure in some people. Be wary of overly salty foods, such as commercial sauces, soy sauce, fish sauce, and fish paste. Stay away from snack foods, cured meats and takeaways or if you have no choice at least limit these to at least once a week or less. Packaged foods often need no added salt on cooking or as condiments on the table. Just check the label for salt content. Substitutes for Salt, use herbs and spices in cooking and be very sparing with salt and salty sauces on your plate. Go for dill, rosemary, thyme, black pepper, or basil leaves to get a fuller flavor or a little zing.

Happy New Year to Everybody!!! I have list my New years healthy resolution that we must do in order to have a healthy throughout New year.
- Exercise everyday To keep our blood pumping, an accelerated heartbeat is good for our heart, and sweat is great for our skin.
- Never get drunk Even if its just family gatherings we don't want to feel awful the day after and our skin sometimes dehydrate from excessive alcohol intake.
- Take care of ourself and develop open honest relationship with all of our doctors. In this way it will pay off in the way we look as well.
- Take calcium vitamins regularly.
- Have a Healthy skin that's clean, clear and smooth is our best beauty accessory. A glow cannot be fake. The next is a healthy set of teeth and fresh breath.
- Go easy on sodas, iced tea and fruit juice. The sugars in these drinks secretly sabotage our diet, and sodas and iced tea add unnecessary caffeine into our system. Our best bet? Water. not only is it healthier for us, and its also free.
- Learn how to take a power nap, pilots and astronauts do it, and so do Japanese businessmen on their lunch break so why we can't do it? i know we can. 15 minutes of quality sleep is enough to energize us for the rest of the day, just make sure to set an alarm to wake you up.
- Do any kind of stretching or casual exercise at home, stretch when we wake up in the morning or while watching TV, play tag with our kids, or dance with the music on the radio.

All of us really wants to be healthy, i think no one wants to be sick, but because of many things to do we sometimes forget to take care of our health, but don't blame yourself that you do nothing for your health, because there are many easy ways to stay healthy and we just have to do it.
here are the easy tips to stay healthy:
1. Don t eat too much: Eating too much can get you fat, and being fat is not healthy
2. Drink right amount of water: at least 8 glasses a day, water carries wastes out of your body. It cushions your joints. It supplies oxygen and energy to your cells. It regulates your body temperature. It stops kidney failure, it stops loss of hair, it stops you from getting dry skin and headaches.Water is like oil in a vehicle. You have to have it.
3. Don t Skip Breakfast: Eating in the morning give you energy for the rest of the day. Because it gets your bodies metabolism going first thing in the morning so you don't feel like snacking on bad stuff. It puts your body on a schedule so your body will release fat and start burning energy. You need 1300 calories a day to lose weight anything less you just store and gain back in a cycle.
4. Do breathing exercise: Specially in the morning when the air is fresh.it lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels. it increases blood oxygen levels which helps with kidneys, heart, muscle growth, electrolyte exchange, circulation. it also prevents atelectasis which is a closing of the aveoli in the lungs by forcing them to stay open. one of the problems that we face as we get older is a lack of expansion in the lungs. muscles become weaker, cartilage flexes less, etc. as the lungs will expand less and less, the lower parts lose their ability to open and hold air so we get short of breath with simple exercise the older we get because we have less space. doing deep breathing as a younger person helps fight off some of the effects of old age, just like stretching muscles of the back or legs improve flexion and circulation as we get older. how often?? good question. just like regular exercise, doing it every day is a good thing. but like regular exercise sometimes we just don't have the time or energy. even once a week will do you some good and increase the oxygen levels in the blood
5. Always smile: Firstly and most importantly it improves the overall psychological and mental state of a person. It relaxes some facial muscles and widens blood vessels that help blood flow better and benefit the physical and mental health.
I am sure it also increases one's popularity and thus improves his/her social state
6. Drink your vitamin: The benefits one gets in general is, it builds up our immune system, e.g. Vit-C, B, E, A, D, K all help improve your immune system.
7. Eat Fruits: fruit has fiber, vitamins, minerals. Benefits of fruit on the digestion
Most fruits function as natural laxatives, helping to regulate your body's digestive process. They provide roughage and fiber that is important in helping your body get rid of wastes.
8. Stay Relax: Stay calm always, relaxation means three words " peace of mind"
9. Drink milk: There's loads of calcium in milk, which benefit joints. If you're not into artificial growth hormones, there are hundreds of organic options that taste the same and provide the same health benefits
10. Exercise: Strengthen your cardiovascular and respiratory systems, keep bones and muscles strong, manage your weight, prevent and manage diabetes, ease depression and manage pain and stress, reduce your risk of certain types of cancer and sleep better.
